Abstract

In 2018, Kouabouanga Roger, cultivating a 4 hectare field, was informed about the establishment of the Ntokou-Pikounda National Park in the said area and a one month's notice was set to leave the premises and for the harvest. Not wanting to comply with the injunctions of the eco-guards, Kouabouanga Roger as well as his helpers Yombi Cyr and Odandzi Albin escaped the control of the patrol of the eco-guards by hiding in the forest together with Kouabaouanga Roger Fils. They passed four days of hunting before being apprehended by the eco-guards.

Kouabouanga Roger, Obandi Albin and Yombi Cyr were sentenced to 12 months imprisonment suspended and XAF 100000 ( one hundred thousand) as fines. The accused were sentenced to pay the costs. The imprisonment in default of payment was fixed to the 4 months for the recovery of fines, 1 month for court fees and 3months for damages and interest.
