On the night of 2 October 2016, elements of the Forestry and Wildlife control post of Kika, Moloundou were on a wildlife control mission and arrested four accused persons with a bag containing elephant ivories. Three of them took to their heels but the accused Hamadou, burdened with the weight of the ivories could not run. The other accused, Poye presented just 4 ivories. During interrogations, discussions between Poye and Hamadou orchestrated the trickery of Poye causing the elements to carry out a house search in the residence of Poye. The house search permitted the discovery of 7 other ivories he had hidden for his personal use. After interrogation, their offence statements were drafted and together with the 11 ivories as exhibits, they were forwarded before the state attorney of the court of First Instance Yokadouma for prosecution.
