In October 2015, ENDELE NNANGA Léonce Fernand organized a hunting expedition in the AYINA forest composed of 9 individuals to whom he gave provisions, arm, and ammunitions for the killing of elephants for tusks extraction. This expedition team included trackers, porters, cooks, shooters. After two weeks of hunting and while in the KOM national park, EVINA MFOULOU Patrice in an attempt to extract honey, cut a tree which unfortunately fell and killed OLEM MEDJO Landry, he was burried on the spot. Although the hunters didn’t succeed to kill the elephants for which they had been in the forest for two weeks, they were nevertheless prosecuted. In the first place they all pleaded not guilty but later changed their minds and pleaded guilty. ENDELE NNANGA Léonce Fernand: admitted to have sent 9 persons to the forest for to carry out hunting and he supplied them with arms and the ammunitions as well as the other necessities for hunting. MINKOUMA & MENGUE NTYAME Merice admitted that they were the ones carrying the arms and ammunitions during the hunting party. EVINA MFOULOU Patrice admitted that he cut the tree that killed OLEM MEDJO Landry. After interrogations, they were all transmitted to the State Attorney for prosecution.
