On the 6 June 2016, elements of the conservation service arrested the accused persons aboard a boat in Campo. They were found in possession of 42 Ivory pieces and upon reconstitution by the elements gave 21 elephant ivories. They all pleaded guilty as charged and acknowledged criminal responsibility. After drafting their offence reports, they were forwarded together with the seized items as exhibits before the State Attorney of the Court of First Instance Kribi for prosecution
