Abstract

On the 30 June 2017, elements of the conservation service of the Forestry and Wildlife control post of Ngatto, intercepted a white Toyota pick-up heading to Yokadouma during a usual check point routine in that zone. They caused the passengers to step down so they could thoroughly search the car. During the search, they found a black bag containing some pair of shoes, some traditional clothing and six (6) elephant ivories. No passenger admitted ownership of the said bag. After investigations, the accused MOLO NDZANA Honoré finally admitted the bag belonged to him. During interrogation, he acknowledged committing the offence and accepted responsibility. After his offence report was established, he was forwarded together with the seized items as exhibits before the state attorney of the court of First Instance Yokadouma for prosecution.
