Following the interrogation report from the State Attorney’s office in the case of flagrante delicto of 28 June 2017, the accused persons NYAMA Simon, MBOE Carine and MOUANBANG MINKO Ferdinande were brought directly before the court of First Instance of Djoum, to respond to charges of illegal detention of firearm and ammunition, hunting without a permit or license, and detention and circulation of trophies of class A totally protected animals species. And in a similar case of flagrante delicto proceedings of 21 September 2017, where the accused persons MEDOU Jean Bart and FOTSA Olivier were brought directly before the court of First Instance of Djoum, to respond to the charges of detention and circulation of trophies of class A protected animals species, illegal detention of firearm and ammunition, and hunting without a permit or license. In the course of the proceedings, the court noticed a connection between two cases before the court with proceedings numbers 270/RG/17 and 326/RG/17. This directed the court’s attention to section 6(2)b of the criminal procedure code which provides for a compulsory joinder of proceedings in cases of indivisible offences. The court thereby ordered the joining of both procedures for effective prosecution of the case.
