On the 3rd September 2015, the conservation service of the Dja Biosphere reserve arrested the accused persons, Bekono Aline & Ella Belinga Chancelin during an anti-poaching patrol. They were arrested on their motorbike carrying freshly killed 1 yellow bay duiker, 2 mandrills and a smoked Agile Mangabey. The seized wildlife products were sold in public auction as per the wildlife law and the proceeds yielded 5000 XAF, which was paid into the public treasury. They accused persons were later on transmitted before the State Attorney for prosecution.

They were found guilty of the illegal detention and circulation of trophies of totally protected animal species & complicity. Bekono Aline was sentenced to pay a fine of 100.000 XAF and 50.000 XAF for Ella Belinga Chancelin, and to both pay 500.000 XAF as damages to the State of Cameroon represented by the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife.
