Abstract

On the 29 April 2016, the conservation service of the Dja Biosphere reserve carried out an anti-poaching patrol in the Forest Management Unit of Mpacko (UFA Mpacko). In this regard, they arrested the accused persons, Mvomo Meka and Essiane Pamphille with parts of Chimpanzee, Monkeys, Bay Duikers, Pangolins and other protected animal species. The accused persons acknowledged camping in the said zone for over a week for hunting. The wildlife products found in their possession were seized and they were brought to the office of the conservation service for interrogation. Following this, they were transmitted to the State Attorney for prosecution.
